Available works from the Balance Side Collection include complimentary U.S. shipping unless otherwise noted. Shipping, delivery, and installation for made-to-order and commissioned works are quoted separately based on the piece, destination, and project requirements.
Available Works — Processing Time
In-stock works typically ship within 5–7 business days of purchase. Made-to-order and commissioned works follow the production timeline confirmed before work begins.
Delivery & Tracking
Tracking details are provided when a piece ships by carrier. Delivery or installation arrangements for larger, made-to-order, or project-specific works are confirmed separately before dispatch.
Damaged Shipments
All shipments are insured. If a piece arrives with visible damage, please notify J.S. Made within 48 hours of delivery and provide clear photographs of the piece, packaging, and shipping label. The studio will review the damage and coordinate the appropriate next step, which may include an insurance claim, repair, replacement, or another resolution depending on the work and circumstances.
Returns
Available works are one-of-one, and made-to-order or commissioned works are produced specifically for each project. For that reason, all sales are final and J.S. Made does not accept returns or exchanges, except where required by law or where a separate resolution is agreed for verified shipping damage.
International Orders
International shipping may be available by inquiry. Freight, insurance, duties, taxes, customs fees, delivery coordination, and any required installation are reviewed separately before purchase or production begins.
Cancellations
Orders for available works may be cancelled only before shipment. Made-to-order and commissioned projects may be cancelled only according to the terms confirmed for that project. Deposits, material purchases, design work, and production already completed may be non-refundable.
Natural Material Variation & Handmade Character
Natural Material Variation
Solid hardwood is a natural material. Grain, color, figure, knots, mineral streaking, texture, and other characteristics vary from board to board and are not considered defects. Because each work is made individually, natural variation between photographs, renderings, samples, and the finished piece should be expected.Dimensions & Handmade Tolerances

Published dimensions are intended to describe the overall size of the work. Because pieces are individually built and finished by hand, minor dimensional variation may occur. Product photographs and design renderings are provided to communicate form, proportion, material direction, and overall design intent. Wood tone, grain, figure, finish appearance, and color may vary due to natural material differences, lighting, photography, rendering conditions, and display settings. The client is responsible for confirming that the work can be safely delivered into the intended space, including doorways, elevators, stairs, corridors, and other access conditions. Any special building requirements, certificates of insurance, delivery restrictions, or installation conditions must be disclosed before delivery is scheduled. Additional costs resulting from undisclosed access conditions, failed delivery attempts, storage, redelivery, or special handling may be charged separately.Lead Times & Unforeseen Delays

Production and delivery timelines are estimates unless expressly stated otherwise in writing. Material availability, freight conditions, building access, weather, carrier delays, or other circumstances outside the studio’s reasonable control may affect scheduling. J.S. Care & Use
Solid hardwood responds naturally to changes in humidity, temperature, sunlight, moisture, and use. Clients are responsible for following the care guidance provided with the work and maintaining an appropriate indoor environment. Damage resulting from improper care, standing water, excessive moisture or dryness, direct heat, misuse, impact, unauthorized modification, or improper installation is not considered shipping damage.Taxes, Duties & Additional Charges

Applicable sales tax is collected where required. International clients are responsible for any import duties, customs charges, local taxes, brokerage fees, or other destination-specific charges unless otherwise confirmed in writing before purchase.
